MARCH 21, 2023

Aubree Adams will be our March speaker
Aubree Adams has been a host mom for youth in recovery and a former Colorado parent. She presents a first-hand perspective on the growing public health concern emerging from the marijuana legalization culture. Aubree is currently the Director of Every Brain Matters, a community of support and advocacy built on science and the lived experience of marijuana harms. Aubree co-developed Mar-Anon, a 12-Step program that gives support and hope to families affected by another person’s marijuana use. She also hosts a podcast called “It’s Just Pot: What’s the Problem?” where she openly discusses the public health crisis caused by the marijuana expansion. Aubree was honored to be a recipient of Drug Free America Foundation’s 2021 Moxie award, and her op-ed was published in USA Today.
How Marijuana Legalization Changed My Colorado Home
This presentation is perfect for educating legislators and communities on what happens when we allow legalization and widespread commercialization into our communities. Aubree shares with attendees not only how her beloved, quiet, neighborly town of Pueblo, CO became a haven for illegal marijuana growers after legalization but how the community was unable to handle the mental and physical health crisis due to lack of foresight, funding, and education.
